(Note: Bold Alliance is no longer active as Bold Iowa in the state of Iowa.)

Bold Iowa under the Bold Alliance — led by state director Ed Fallon — was launched in 2016 with a focus on organizing landowners who were facing eminent domain and seizure of their land for Energy Transfer Partners’ proposed Dakota Access pipeline. Actions launched by Bold Iowa ranged from direct nonviolent actions to stop construction of the pipeline, to rallies at the Army Corps and Iowa Utilities Board, petitions to then-President Obama, and a Climate Justice Unity March across the state.
