The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is currently speeding through the review process for plans to cross thousands of Virginia water bodies with the massive fracked-gas Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley pipelines. Under the Clean Water Act, the DEQ has the authority to determine whether or not the pipeline mitigation plans meet our Commonwealth’s water quality standards. But it is currently not planning on using that authority.

We need our legislators to stand up for Virginia waterways and communities and tell DEQ to do the same!

Bold Alliance has teamed up with our partners Appalachian Voices & Oil Change International to flood Virginia’s legislators with a series of ‘Call in Days’. A script to guide your call may be found on the form below.

The DEQ and the Commonwealth of Virginia must suspend the public comment period and all public hearings now — until the information necessary to consider the impacts to groundwater supplies is gathered as recommended by the VA Department of Health and other stakeholders.
